People are broadly classified based on their body type as Ectomorphs, Mesomorphs and Endomorphs. Ectomorph is a body type which is categorized by long and thin muscles/limbs and low fat storage. Ectomorphs are usually considered to be slim and are less prone to store fat in their body thus making it very difficult for them to build muscles. Though these ectomorphs tend to have a lean body structure they too can successfully build muscles if they follow a thorough routine which is a combination of both a strict diet and regular exercise.
Nutritious Diet for Ectomorphs
Whenever it comes to building muscle the most important nutrient is protein. Therefore it becomes really important to include sources of protein in regular meals and snacks. Chicken, Beef, Fish, Nuts and Beans are some of the best sources of protein. Carbohydrates too when taken in right proportions will induce the right amount of calories which in turn will help in gaining weight and thereby increase muscle size. The saying eating six small regular meals works best here as well. Eating six small meals including three small meals and three snack meals is definitely better than three square meals.
Training and Workout for Ectomorphs
It is really important to include a thorough training session in one’s routine if they want to build muscle being an ectomorph. However working out smart is more important than working out hard. Sufficient amount of care needs to be taken because the recovery ability of an ectomorph is more prolonged. Therefore ectomorphs are advised to take sufficient rest to recover between consecutive workouts. However it is important to note that weight gain and cardio workouts do not go hand in hand and thus it is advised not to perform cardio which would in turn nullify all the efforts made to gain weight. Also, during this course of time, one should develop the habit of drinking a lot of water to keep the body hydrated.
It can thus be concluded that a balanced diet and a training routine matters the most when it comes muscle building for ectomorphs. Therefore taking all this into consideration with adequate sleep, a good diet, unstrained workouts and mental rest every ectomorph will master the art of muscle building.
